The first industrial lot of ice cream, 132 kg, was produced in Kharkiv.
The workshop grew into an ice cream factory: the second floor was added. It was equipped with new machines to manufacture 5 tons per shift. Ice cream was produced in bulk and individual packaging.
Glavkhladoprom factory made and sold over 2800 tons of varied ice cream to bring joy to city residents and guests. The only mechanized ice cream bar maker in Ukraine was installed at the facility.
Glavkhladoprom was reconstructed to increase the production capacity to 12 tons per shift. New equipment included: 2 ice cream bar makers, a compressor shop, continuous freezers, a tunnel oven for waffle baking.
Ice cream with waffles and fruit layers has been made in Kharkiv since 1937. In the mid-1960s, Kharkiv fruit ice was considered to be the best in the country.
The Council of Ministers of the USSR decided to purchase Derby Italian production line for Kharkiv ice cream factory.
Two new Derby production lines were installed to manufacture ice cream bars, lines М6-OLV to produce ice cream in waffle cups and line М6-OLD to make ice cream sandwiches.
Joint-Stock Company Khladoprom was founded.
Since 2001, our factory has been certified under ISO 9001 standard, and it has been successfully running a quality management system.
The Company acquired trademarks “Khreshchatyk” and “Kashtan” and started the national brand development strategy. The certification under the ISO 22000 food safety standard was successfully completed.
The factory was the first Ukrainian ice cream producer to be granted IFS Food certificate.
The company expanded its production and logistic capacities via acquiring an ice cream factory in the town of Smila (Cherkasy region).
“Khreshchatyk” and “Kashtan” national brands promotion campaigns were launched, and they appeared to be the growth leaders upon the results of 2019 season in Ukraine.
Kharkiv Khladoprom ice cream factory was extended via equipment modernization, ice cream mix production capacity increase from 5000 l to 10 000 l per hour on Tetra Pak (Sweden).
In order to achieve better results, since 2012, Khladoprom LLC has been annually audited for compliance with the requirements of the International Standard Featured Standard, which allows exporting the company's products to the largest European, North American and British supermarkets.
This standard provides about 400 criteria that are used to assess the company compliance and identify its total score. “According to the results of the latest audit, our compliance percentage was about 97%, which is a very high score even for European companies,”Oleksiy Baryshevskyy proudly shares his company’s achievements.
With its extensive and long experience, Khladoprom knows how to please its consumers. The available product range can satisfy any taste. Still, the bestsellers of the ice menu are the desserts with traditional flavors, well-known Ukrainian brands Kashtan, Khreshchatyk and Khladik. These products come in various packaging formats (bars, waffle cups and cones, plastic and cardboard cups, sandwiches, bulk etc.).
